The Challenge:

Ashfield were requested to complete the Phase 1 assessment and achieve sign-off of contaminated land conditions as quickly as possible to meet a tight planning approval deadline.

Our approach

We worked in a friendly and constructive manner with the school’s maintenance staff to identify all potential sources of contamination and general site environmental practices that could result in ground contamination. The finings of the walkover were incorporated within a comprehensive Phase 1 assessment which robustly concluded that further assessment was not needed.

Outcome

The assessment report was agreed by the Local Planning Authority first time, with prompt closure of all contaminated land conditions.
